Who nominates businesses for the The Cape and The Islands A-List?
Nominations can come in through multiple channels. Businesses are nominated by the research team at CBS Radio and CityVoter based on merit. Additionally, nominations come in anonymously and are evaluated for accuracy.
How do I get my business on The Cape and The Islands A-List?
Any business owner* within following areas: may request to join a contest category in which
their business legitimately provides services or specialization and has
a physical storefront. It's free and easy to add your business to The Cape and The Islands A-List, simply visit our List Your Business page!

What if my favorite business is not on The Cape and The Islands A-List?
You can either nominate the business yourself, by visiting our nomination page, or you can encourage the owners to list themselves!
Can a business compete in multiple categories?
No. While many businesses do excel across a broad spectrum of
categories, each business is limited to one contest category during the
8-week voting period. Each business controls which contest they compete
in.
How are winners selected?
Contest winners are determined by popular vote. Consumers can only vote once making The Cape and The Islands A-List the most accurate and fair online voting available. The company with the most votes during the defined voting period wins. Refer to the Contest Rules for more information. Although paid promotion packages help increase business visibility on the site, advertising in no way impacts the vote count.
How do people vote?
Votes are only accepted on the official Contest Site. Voting begins June 9th and ends July 4th. CityVoter technology ensures voting is fair and accurate. Business owners are strongly encouraged to invite their customers to vote for them, but businesses who attempt to fraudulently manipulate the vote count will be removed from the competition.
Does a star rating or review count as a vote?
No. People may review businesses without voting and vote for a business without writing a review or submitting a rating. Votes are cast when the yellow vote button is clicked. People can see what votes they have cast at anytime by logging into their account and clicking on “Votes” under the “My Stuff” tab.
When will winners be announced?
Winners will be announced after the contest has ended. After that event, CBS Radio will continue to showcase the winners on The Cape and The Islands A-List under a winners section. All nominees will remain on The Cape and The Islands A-List guide all year.
How often is The Cape and The Islands A-List updated?
Constantly. Businesses and consumer nominations are processed during the contest and the guide will continue to grow after the contest concludes.
*Businesses which are part of a national chain or franchise will be provided with only one listing on The Cape and The Islands A-List
**Some Cape Cod area businesses in the wedding contest category may fall outside of the defined area.
